"Rubber Hands" - My Son The Doctor

Image
Photo Cred: Ian McNally I'm back today with some very catchy, harmless pop music (with a garage rock/punk touch) to share with the world. The band is My Son The Doctor, a name that is, well, interesting. But it's fun music - kind of goofy, but like I said before, ultimately harmless. It vaguely reminds me of some American riff on The Fratellis, but the band describes their music as a mix of Pavement and The Offspring. They also describe themselves as "like Spoon, but younger and hotter." Let's go with that!  The best part of this song is when they shout out seasonings. If my depressed ass can manage a laugh,  you can too. Enjoy: My Son The Doctor · Rubber Hands My Son The Doctor released their EP "Taste Those Dreams" this past Friday, mastered by Jeff Lipton, who has worked with the likes of Wilco, LCD Soundsystem, and yes, Stephen Malkmus.

virgin mobile free fest: TOMORROW

they are FINALLY annoucing the line-up, at 11 am, with the start of their new internet station. I know this time is going to be bad for me financially, but the things I am willing to do to get there. the things! here my guesses on some of the artists: - LCD Soundsystem (he is like at every festival anyway) - Pavement (why not) - Stars (they'll be right DC at the time) Richard Branson is my favorite millionaire. there is something about him that just says "insane" which Warren Buffet lacks.

Even though the title of their career retrospective LP gets a thumbs up despite me being unable to stand looking at its artwork , I’m not really in support of this whole Pavement reunion thing because it’s been reminding me I’m older than I’ve otherwise been deluding myself into believing; the copy of La Nausée on my bookshelf continues to taunt me. Anyway, I just read in some poorly-written, xeroxed fanzine (the internet) that their original drummer is going to be joining them for a single appearance later this month. It’s hard to say if he’ll frighten people with lobsters or be arrested because the concert’s security thinks he’s a crazy homeless dude, making it an authentic 1992-like experience, but this news reminded me of the single from his solo album, Hospital . Oh, hush, you’re welcome!
