Song of the Day Some weekends near spring I'm filled with the urge (mostly near Easter for whatever reason) to listen to "The Graduate" soundtrack and rewatch the movie, which I've adored for years. Today? Today is one of those days.  So! Do the lyrics of this song make ANY sense? Nah.  Let me look into this.... Well, Wikipedia says: According to a  Variety  article by  Peter Bart  in the May 15, 2005 issue, [2]  director  Mike Nichols  had become obsessed with Simon & Garfunkel's music while shooting the film. Larry Turman, his producer, made a deal for Simon to write three new songs for the movie. By the time they were nearly finished editing the film, Simon had only written one new song.
