God Hates Us All

Wait, so Conan O'Brien didn't win an Emmy last night? I'm giving The Emmys one of these:

PS: from last night

Modern Family won 6 Emmys! Who predicted that show would be a hit? ME!!! Gosh Darnit, I was right! Not to toot my own horn, but toot ta toot ta toot toot. QATFYG: Did you watch the Emmys? and PPS: If you have not seen Modern Family yet, it is worth watching.

I'll Wait

As many of you know, I tried and tried to arrange a David Lee Roth interview at the beginning of the summer without so much success: I watched his " Just a Gigolo " video for probably the first time since 1987 this past May, was delighted, and decided I needed to talk to him about this. Sadly, my requests weren’t honored and I became confused, because, really?, has anyone really wanted to talk to him since his Crazy from the Heat follow-up, which I can’t remember the title of? Probably not. As for you, C.C. Deville? I may have hoped to use you as a half-hearted replacement, but can’t believe your publicist wasn’t even polite enough to respond! And I don’t feel motivated to look-up the dudes from King Diamond , which is just as well because I doubt they possess much in the way of a non-“mayhem / the devil / gash” vocabulary. Please don’t click that. Anyway, it wasn’t until several days ago upon coming across this article, Van Halen said to be working on new album with David L

nancy and lee, ALWAYS AND FOREVER

watch SOME VELVET MORNING, which is pretty trippy . and as is the video. Before there was Zooey and Matt or Dean and Britta or any of those other cute male-female duos that occupy important spaces in mainstream music (I guess it's arguable about that last pair), there was Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood . I feel it's criminal I overlooked them until my 20 th year of existence, when I listened to one of their albums on a whim after getting a job at my local zoo. It was a rainy May; I was stuck in the basement; the album was totally streamable on last. fm . (not so anymore!) This is a pair that's as American as baseball or apple pies. Kids should listen to their catalog in elementary school, along with the music of Woody Guthrie, Ke $ha and the Gershwins . If my parents had been more into music, I wish they would have made me listen to them as a small child. I think I would have loved Nancy and Lee as a toddler, as a kid, as an adolescent. Their music conjures up thoughts

"Stay Here"- Friendly Fires

Friendly Fires finally have a new song out!!!!!! I first heard them in 2008 with "Paris," the ultimate escapist track, which I still adore to this day. And then "On Board" And "Photobooth"- it's good Brit dance rock. Think Bloc Party, think Two Door Cinema Club, think Passion Pit BUT BETTER. and more English! so was I scared to hear their new song? was it like seeing my parents naked, which I have seen? umyes. "SUCK MY DECK" so they collaborated with these guys with Azari and III and this British DJ claims this is disco. but this is better than disco. judge for yourself: B+/A- it's rather arbituary.

five years ago

It was Katrina, which devastated a portion of the American south. Question: in light of the recent oil spill, do you think the American south has been cursed or something? that poor region.

I Present the New Ke$ha

Colette Carr is basically doing Ke$ha-imprint talk-hop with too much autotune, too much glow-in-the-dark neon, and too much nihilistic sexuality. Unfortunately, she's also more attractive. I really hate to admit that. Naturally, I immediately downloaded her debut mixtape which is being offered freely on the Nick Cannon website. I'm only six songs deep, but it's exceeding my expectations out of pure catchiness despite obvious flaws, again, like Ke$ha. I know there are some posts about Katy Perry around here, but, listen, you would be making a mistake by listening to her album. I've never heard it, but I'm sure it's terrible. Look at pictures of her and move on. This is pop that doesn't ruin itself by needing to be something bigger than pop. I'm looking at you, second half of Lady Gaga's The Fame .

overdramatic 90s female-centric pop music

so while AWM and Nader sojourn in the land of ice and snow, I bring you the land of estrogen and when Lilith Fair still really stood for something SHERYL so admittedly I haven't been the hugest fan of her since the turn of the century, but in the 90s, she hit her stride. and boo Lance Armstrong! booooo! I'd still see her live- nothing over thirty dollars, though. one of the music videos I vividly remember from my childhood I think it was because of the bright colors. JEWEL scene: my mom driving me to school while Classy 100 played and it was raining outside. I thought Jewel would only date hot guys with dark hair that drank coffee and read Voltaire. Jewel, like most women, has poor taste in men. THIS IS WHY YOU MADE PIECES OF ME BITCH CLICK HERE NOW THIS IS ME DOWN ON MY KNEES CLICK ME CLICK ME admittedly, all I've wanted to do (on and off) since Monday is sit in bed and cry and listen to said album. Uffie would not do this and then whore herself out to goth girls from Fair

Russia 360 Vol 4: Experimental and Extreme

Виктор Iванiв (or Viktor Ivaniv) & Muhmood: This is a collaboration between two Siberian artists. One is a poet and the other produces albums of ambient soundscapes by recording the hum of power lines and some such things. Вирь (or Vir') from Vyborg started out playing sludge metal, but now plays a very bizarre form of drone doom that relies on ambient sounds and scratches. There aren't many vocals, but they are abrasive. The fucking thing keeps auto-starting. Forest is a lackluster, Nazi-loving black metal band from Novomoskovsk. I don't recommend listening to them or supporting their ideals, but I said I'd give you the 360. Russia loves extremes.

Back to Russia

AWM and I are working on 360 Degrees of Russian music, And we are making a few stops along the way. I knew a Russian Tartar woman I used to charm, and by charm I mean annoy to no end. (She now finds me overbearing and unfriendly.) She told me this group’s language sounded very Tartar-esque. I once again turn to my favorite three Uzbek females. Of course, Uzbekistan is now it’s own independent nation, but this song has a lot of Russian influence, especially some vibes and feelings of Central Russia. Shahrizoda And now something more gentle. I have spent so much time listening to Russian Guitarist, Kryztof Piotrowicz (he might be Polish), who plays so many guitar arrangements of Russian songs. It has great sounds that capture a lot of Russian Folk Music feelings. If you listen to this song, close your eyes and imagine a story. Kryztof Piotrowicz And of course Kamchatka, This is a long docu clip, but about 6 or 7 minutes in there is some traditional music of Russia’s Eastern Kamchatka p

Spotlight/Shoutout: Stanley Tucci and Tammin Sursork

So I absolutely could not decide who to give the s/s to this week, so again it is a tie....but in a more bizarre fashion. First up, I just watched "The Lovely Bones," after like 9 months of putting it off, and Stanley Tucci was amazing in that movie. He totally nailed the role of soft outside, evil to the core. He was just so good. I am glad he was at least rewarded with a Golden Globe nom for it. Stanley Tucci has just done so many great things, especially playing the Monk obsessed actor in well "Monk." Next up, Tammin Sursok. This singer/songwriter gal was born in South Africa, moved to Australia, and now lives in USA, or at least works here. It gave her an interesting accent that fades in and out sometimes. She has done "The Young and the Restless," "Pretty Little Liars," and of course "Hannah Montana." Last Monday, I had my first Tammin Sursok party at my place, and it was beyond awesome. Try it sometime. Here is what her accent sou

Frabby

Ah. Okay. So apparently Saturday Night Live 's Fred Armisen is now dating his fellow SNL co-star Abby Elliott . Abby is 23 and the daughter of SNL alum Chris Elliott. Fred is 43 and...is still technically married to Mad Men 's Elisabeth Moss . Wat. Fred and Elisabeth met on the set of SNL when Moss' Mad Men co-star Jon Hamm first hosted in October of 2008. They got engaged two months later and married last October. News reports say Armisen and Moss first split up in May, although the news of them breaking out hit recently just as the news of him dating Elliott came about. I specifically remember watching pre-show of the Golden Globes back in January and a host asking Elisabeth Moss why she became engaged and married so soon after meeting Fred, and her response, cheeks blushing, smile a-glow, was "Sometimes, you just know, you know?" I wonder what she knew? Because here's something my lovely friend Hannah and I knew back in June. We knew of Fred and Abby befo

Hannah Montana now Available in Hindi!

On Youtube all of Hanny Montanny is available in Hindi. And it's horribly unattractive!! Hindi is not a language for comedy or excitement, so if you enjoy not liking yourself or you choose to get rid of your last ounce of happiness, then watch Hannah Montana in Hindi. And to think I began this evening wanting to watch "The Wicker Man." QATFYG: If you are from India, need a greencard ? I am still unmarried and not giving a sh*t.

5 Films to See!!

Just kidding there are 6 ! Yahoo updates has just tossed this list of horrible films in my direction, and I have to see all of them. Movies So Bad They're Good! Piranha 3D Plan 9 From Outer Space Troll 2 Showgirls The Room The Wicker Man (Nick Cage version) I have not seen most of these ( only showgirls), so I am going to watch the list. But perhaps starting with The Wicker Man! QATFYG: Any thoughts or a movie you'd like to add?

Rufus and Martha

So I made the terrible mistake of deciding to skip seeing my boo Rufus Wainwright perform at the Greek Theatre here in Los Angeles on Friday (don't ask me why). It hurts even more so knowing that his sister, the underrated (well, they are both underrated, really) Martha Wainwright opened the show! During Rufus' encore, Martha brought out her infant son Arcangelo onstage and sang along with Rufus on his song "Poses", from his perfect 2001 album of the same name. How adorable is little Arcangelo?! How great is this song live?! And holy hell, is it me or does Martha look like Lady Gaga in that still?!

GUEST WRITER- Paul McCartney concert in Pittsburgh

(for the record, I was beyond delighted when Ursula agreed to write this, because she's one of the best writers I've ever stumbled upon. for reals . the Useless Critic is not worthy of this girl. here she is though, writing about the former Beatle who helped open Pittsburgh's newest concert venue/hockey home, the Consol Energy Center, on August 18 th ) The day after I saw Paul McCartney live in Pittsburgh, at the brand new Consol Energy Center (A.K.A. brand new hockey arena), I spent many hours on the couch in a semi-vegetative state, flipping channels, eating whatever I could find in the freezer. Seeing Paul in concert is hard work. If you’re a one-generation-late Beatles fanatic like me, there’s a lot of screaming and shrieking and dancing and singing that occurs when you witness the majesty of SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY IN THE FLESH. Paul is a bit droopier in the face than in past years, but he did just turn 68, and for all that, he’s still just as energetic, quick-witted, an

Music of Russia 360: Vol 2

So Nader Bouberhan and I have decided to discover all 360 degrees of Russia. This series may be controversial, even shocking, but we're going to give it to you in raw form. First, a joint by 19th century Pskov province composer Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky (Модест Петрович Мусоргский). It was popularized by the 1940 Walt Disney animated film Fantasia . This particular version was arranged by Leopold Stokowski, a Brit/Polish/American, but Stokowski has said that this arrangement is based on Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's. Another Russian. (+2) The second song I'm posting is Armenia's entry in Eurovision 2010. Eva Rivas (Valeria Alexandrovna Reshetnikova-Tsaturyan/Валерия Александровна Решетникова-Цатурян) is ethnically Armenian, but was born in Rostov-on-Don, USSR, now part of the Russian Federation. (+1)

"Hands"- the Ting Tings/"Teenage Dream"- Katy Perry

first of all: you are going to have to do a Where's Waldo search of the internet to find this track. I ain't posting it. mostly because I can't find anything decent on YOUTUBE. thoughts: I'm really bored. I like the Ting Tings but they aren't like, amazing. you know? they're just basically pop rock. something fun to listen to and that's it. and honestly, it's not that catchy. it's just boring. you can hear the same thing better from other bands. C - but you know what DOESN'T suck? "Teenage Dream!" God, did Katy Perry sell her soul to the devil? I hope I can't be held accountable for liking her. am I supposed to find her attractive? she looks like she needs a HIV test. A p.s. the Ting Tings is such a dumb name.

The 25 Best/Worst Americans

WELL a conservative blog poll selected the 25 best and 25 worst figures in American history. To find out what they picked, click the links! This Year's New Words

Language naturally reflects popular culture; every time there's a new idea, we need a way to communicate it. a movie by people i kind of know

On Saturday evening Morning Funeral will be showing at Mercyhurst (at 7 pm for 4 dollars). It's a local movie made by the Detisches, whom I kind of know. you can read about it here . Also, this weekend is CELEBRATE ERIE. you know, with that dude from Styx and the Gin Blossoms. AND THE NEW PORNOGRAPHERS ARE COMING TO PITTSBURGH IN OCTOBER <3

Hear it First: Chechen Pop/Folk

I was googling Chechnya earlier and Макка Сагаипова (Makka Sagaipova) came up as a notable Chechen. Anyway, this is what pop music sounds like in Chechnya. You can download a bunch of songs here , but I have no idea whether or not it's legal.

Gryffindor Stanley Cup Win Controversial

Early indicators showed Slytherin House the sure winner, until some last minute trickery by Albus Dumbledore put Potter and pals in the lead. Final results had Ravenclaw finishing third and Hufflepuff steadily continuing the tradition of finishing fourth. It is believed that Dumbledore awarded as many as 60 points to individuals within Gryffindor House for things as trivial as a "well-played game of chess." The last-minute funny business reportedly added an astounding 170 points to Gryffindor's total score, enough to award them the Stanley Cup. Decorative banners bearing Slytherin's colors had already been hung and were immediately withdrawn and replaced, leaving students dumbfounded. Team coach Severus Snape would not offer comment, but prospective seeker Draco Malfoy suggested that a change in league rules may reflect an affirmative action policy to facilitate the recent integration of muggle-borns. "The purity of the game," Malfoy stated, "has

Spotlight/Shoutout: OG Mudbone (One Year of S/S)

!!!ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! Can you believe it's been a year already since Spotlight/Shoutout started off on the third Thursday of August? The first ever s/s went to Kyle MacLachlan, and then the spotlight was stolen by OG Mudbone...........the funniest man on earth according to some Youtube videos. For those of you who do not know, OG is an FOC "Freak of Co*k" adult film actor. And yes, I censored the C word, just in case the word cock offends anyone. OG Mudbone takes the 1 year prize because he's enormous (and he shoots and scores), and it doesn't matter if his adult entertainment masterworks are real or fake. His foul mouth is more exciting than many. Seriously, get some google images. height="385"> In other news, Spotlight/Shoutout has had some great ups this year. I hope there are many more to come, and indeed there will be. QATFYG: If anyone has seen his films, can you still drink soymilk? I can't! Happy 1 year!! s/s

Collaborative Post #1: Tila Tequila and the Juggalos

By AWM and Brittany the Useless Critic Some of you may know Tila Tequila by virtue of her acclaimed musicianship on songs such 2007's hit " Fuck Ya Man. " Who could forget that classic? I know it was my soundtrack to the mid-2000s. You may also know her as the dirtysinful slut on the MTV reality show A SHOT AT LOVE. This is where she took unsuspecting saps from both genders and sucked them SOULLESS. However, after events at Saturday's " Gathering of the Juggalos, " she may be known for being the unwilling participant and in a modern day Pagliacci reenactment. Tila, by all accounts, that sinful dirty whore, is fortunate to have escaped with her worthless life in tact. oops. that slipped out. Just kidding, she is super hot, even if she recently made fun of Kesha's wardrobe on Twitter -- something that is actually reprehensible. Pertinent Twitter posts show Tila's excitement about the performance, juggalos, and the Kottonmouth Kings, but after the

Today in Bears

Are you a bear? How do you feel about this? Personally, I'll be going to the 3-D version.

Would You Friend Rush Limbaugh to Win an iPad?

Let's face it, it's probably pretty rare to be a young adult and a Rush Limbaugh fan simultaneously. But chances are, even if you are, your friends would ostracize you for friending him on Facebook. Still, history dictates that young adults are willing to sell out friends and beliefs at the drop of a hat for a shot at fame and fortune. This is where Limbaugh comes in, combing the principles of capitalism and the psychology of gambling to create a new e-lemma. If you friend him on Facebook , you can enter a drawing to win an iPad. I don't know what an iPad does exactly, but it's made by Apple so I'm sure it's fancy and worth millions of dollars. I was going to post a picture of the iPad, but I couldn't find one on the Internet.

matt made me listen to lush: a review

Matt has exceptionally good taste in music, so I should listen to him more, no? I just am lazy and unless I hear a band and they get me on that first listen- I'm screwed. if not, well, whatev. OMG LET'S PLAY UFFIE NONSTOP AND DECIPHER HER LYRICS. "damn good cheese." THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING HIDDEN IN THERE, SOME SUBTEXT. so he's been on my case nonstop to listen to Lush. and I've listened to Lush in passing, but inactively. I haven't allowed myself to get into it. is it the same fear that keeps me subdued on dating websites? giving myself away to random strangers/bands and then realizing they have my heart, don't care and will never give it back? that is it. UFFIE, WHAT THE HELL. IT'S JUST THE EMOTIONS, TAKING ME OVER.... all right, I listened to Lush. Matt was nice enough to pass me enough their body of work. yay! so I want to write this like a snob at a winetasting. and I hate wine. here we go: at my first sip of Lush, I am reminded of shoegazin

my 4-year-old knows the lyrics to 'take it off' or: Ke$ha on the Today Show

I just have to say, this was of enough importance to me that I put off taking a shower, but not important enough to DVR. You see, Ke$ha would want me dirty/filthy and unable to go back to figure out what the hell just happened. (amirite?) I missed the first, oh, minute of 'Tik Tok' because I was brushing my teeth (...TRYING...TO...RESIST...MAKING...AWFUL...JOKE) WITH A BOTTLE OF JACK (/FAIL), but what I did see actually was a little bit impressive. She did not sound terrible. She didn't really sound good, but seriously, only like, Sarah Brightman and Celine Dion sound good in that kind of 'outdoor mini-concert' situation. At one point during 'Take It Off' she was clearly adjusting to find the pitch but she did so within a few beats and then stayed on key. I read somewhere that she can actually sing, and I will go on believing this until something happens (like, say, the Orange Bowl) that proves she is talentless and tone-deaf (Ashlee YOU HAVE OTHER TAL

eat pray love? how about: blow me, by brittany.

so Eat Pray Love invades movie theaters this weekend like an STD on a dirty penis. mmm. I couldn't think of a more apt metaphor. I have tried (and subsequently failed) to read this book. I lump it together in that section of literature I consider "stuff my mom would read if she was a little cooler" (how can you be cooler than my mom, though? that's really throwing the gauntlet down). It's like how I consider Twilight literature I'd read if I were 13 and desperate to fit in with the girls that give it up in the closet during "Seven Minutes In Heaven." you know what I mean! The first few lines put me so off. If this woman, Elizabeth Gilbert, was within striking distance of me, I would have thrown the damn book at her head. I had the same feeling when I started reading A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius - that I had to sit in front of some insufferable, pompous narrator that was in love with their self. not my bag, really. I deal with this enou

Let's Talk About Steven Slater

This guy just raised the bar from Proposition 8 to 9. There is a girl on the Internet called Stratbrat who sings a song and it goes like this: See ya later Steven Slater. Didn't need no escalator. Just slid right down that airplane door and ran. So let's get down to business. Is this Steven Tyler guy a hero or a terrorist? Some say he's a working class hero . Others say he is to aviation what Tiger Woods is to professional golf: a sex addict. What do you think? To give your opinion, please click the reply button below and répondez s'il vous plaît . As for my opinion on the subject, I have created and attached a short video below.

YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS

I am really trying to do a weekly thing of this, every Thursday. aight! - Fireflies sort-of twee pop hailing from New England. It's fuzzy and delicate; therefore it demands that you love it and give it a home. This guy's worth investigating; it's great background music or study music, at the very least. http://www.last.fm/music/Fireflies p.s. HE HAS A SONG CALLED OWL CITY. - Patrick Joseph originally from Pittsburgh, he really is NOT bad, although he runs the risk of becoming that cliched male singer-songwriter that is so popular and prominent right now. his voice reminds me a lot of the lead singer of the Stereophonics. listen to him cover E. Smith here: - Joe Negri Joe Negri is the handy man from Mr. Rogers! he's also an accomplished jazz guitarist who teaches college down in Pittsburgh! OH MY GOD HE IS 85 AND HE IS AWESOME listening to the new Arcade Fire again: I think it finally might be growing on me. I just wasn't ready for it, a few weeks ago. it was too so

"The End of the World Is Bigger Than Love"- Jens Lekman

classic Jens! sweeping and elegant and romantic and yet sweet and quirky at the same time! I love the way he puts details of his life in his lyrics in a way that doesn't get aggravating, see here: I was in Washington D.C. for the election And when they announced the results I left the procession Content in the world's direction Tried to call you for an explanation Of the distance to the star constellations Or any explanation of How a broken heart is not the end of the world Because the end of the world is bigger than love the reason I love Jens is because he is the closest channel I found to the way I think. A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ p.s. tour America buddy I HAVE BOOKS TO GIVE YOU.

Hear it first in 2010: Dernière Volonté

Military Pop, Neofolk, Martial... genres of music traditionally associated with phrases like "huh?" and "never heard of it." One would reasonably suppose that something meeting those descriptions would be harsh and unlistenable, of course, and not built upon stripped-down, but catchy, beats and soothing French vocals. The genre offspring of Industrial seem to meld with Synthpop as well as their predecessor. In May of this year, Geoffroy D. ( Dernière Volonté or "Last Wish") released his newest album, Immortel , with little fanfare. In fact, so little that I couldn't even find a YouTube from it (the song above is from 2006's Devant Le Miroir ). Top 10 of 2010? Maybe. At first listen, I still prefer Devant Le Miroir, and three of my spots are already reserved for Robyn releases. AWM

Spotlight/Shoutout: Lubna Azabal

So today is the first day of Ramadan, the holy celebration of Islam. I found it only in nature to give the s/s to someone from the Near East. (I am not sure if she is Muslim, but she often plays Muslims on screen.) Lubna Azabal is of Moroccan decent (born in Europe) and often acts in both English and French. She is an actress that I first saw in the film "Viva Laldjerie," which had strange but compelling aspects. It's worth watching. She also had a role in the award-winning film "Paradise Now." QATFYG: Have you seen many films from Muslim world? مرحبا . وليبارك الله لك ، بغض النظر عن العقيدة التي عليك اتباعها. If you speak Arabic, sorry for the bad translation: Basically saying.....Peace to all, regardless of your faith.

Another Summer Mix. Is this the third one?

Hey, dudes! 01 . What is this thing ? 02 . Dum Dum Girls 03 . Those Cold Cave folks have so many remixes of this on their new EP. Shh, but I think their remix EP turned out better than all of Lady Gaga’s remix EPs. Maybe “The Fame (Glam as You)” is ok. I kind of really want one of those “Alejandro” t-shirts, the one where she has a bird on her head, but $25 + shipping? So, so sad about that. 04 . Hunx + His Punx, you should watch all of his videos . I wish there were Hunx t-shirts, they’d probably only be $10, and I could wear them everyday even though I’m not really into t-shirts. 05 . All Saints Day is the new thing from the Vivian Girls’ bassist so I am obligated to care about it, because I love Katy. Except she's so shy, she never calls. 06 . Oh? This album is kind of long and not very diverse, but it’s nice to see Matador working with weird indie rock bands again. Bummed they resigned Interpol. 07 . She’s a classy lady ! 08 . Still kind of ambivalent about Glasser . Her de

the big c and reasons i will watch aka LAURA LINNEY I LOVE YOU

Laura Linney is one reason not to lose faith in movies today. This woman is amazing; she's a godsend. You can blow smoke out of your ass about how great Meryl Streep is but this woman, LL, she has stuck with the game for long enough to finally be getting some well-deserved recognition. And she really has slaved- been in forgettable features like the Crucible and even pulling her weight on Frasier (which was such a good role for her, I might add. LAURA LINNEY AND KELSEY FOREVER). she started off in Lorenzo's Oil and has been going ever since, but just getting stronger with age, which usually is NOT how Hollywood operates. she was AWESOME in the Savages (SEE IT, I feel like the role she played is me in the future) and broke your heart (if you had one, Fever Ray!) in Love Actually (also me in the future, totally can see it, hot person from work and I are about to finally sleep together and I have to go do a family thing ugh it will happen). and she kicked so much ass as Abigal Ada

cheap places to travel

apparently as of right now it's Portugal. THOUGHTS? summer 2011? maybe, maybe. don't ever feel bad for travelling. some people never travel and want to make others feel bad about it. I say it's a very big world out there and you need to stretch yourself beyond your little neighborhood and expose yourself to other lifestyles, or else you won't grow. that's just me, though. life is about experiences- GET THEM WHILE YOU CAN. /weird rant

Pretty Little Liars Finale Tonight!!

So tonight is the summer finale for "Pretty Little Liars," this has been one of the most interesting shows from the summer. By the picture you can clearly see, it's about 4 girls covered in dirt. It's sort of like "Gossip Girl" meets "Babysitters Club" meets "Stephen King." EXCITED!! 8 PM Eastern on ABC Family!

A Brief Look at Robyn's Body Talk Pt. 2

Robyn - Body Talk Pt. 2 Robyn (pronounced Roe- BINE ) is Scandinavian pop star with a keen grasp on matters of substance. First and foremost, she is a linguist, fearlessly tackling both the standard American English pop vocabulary and African American Vernacular English slang on the same album, a feat rarely parallelled this side of Hyperborea . Apparently there is a Body Talk Pt. 1 and a forthcoming Body Talk Pt. 3 which will place some of the lyrical content in a larger context. I haven't heard them, but I can only imagine that they are flawless. The beats on this album are pure candy. And I mean like Aqua-level candy. When the vocals on the first song, "In My Eyes," starts, I am in absolute idiotic bliss. The feeling continues throughout. First of all, the album is only eight songs, an immediate draw for me. I hate filler and overlong albums. Each song is about four minutes long, which is perfectly suitable. The main obstacle to appreciating the album is the natural

trailer warz

today I am tackling two of the more-hyped movies left this summer: The Switch what about this? I don't hate J. Aniston so much these days- she's really getting more and more likeable to me. and Jason Bateman! I love him! I think it has something to do with his head and the shape of it. that's an odd thing to say but it's true. plus this is the team that brought you Little Miss Sunshine so come on it will be amazing. the plot- the lonely older woman who wants a kid- has been seen so often in contemporary cinema (i.e. Baby Mama and the Next Best Thing , remember that?)- but this is a nice refreshing twist on it. thoughts? AND THEN, OH MY GOD Eat Pray Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1bSFT60sXI thoughts: I hate society.

Wild Child was on TV tonight.

So I just got done watching the ABC Family premiere of "Wild Child," starring Emma Roberts. I watched this film to connect with my Wild Side, by being socially deviant once again and watching a movie that was not made for 22 year old males. I feel so rebellious.
