I'm John Ritter, you dummy!       Starring Kurt, Britt and Ursula.     Britt:   as much as I enjoyed   Celeste and Jesse Forever , it is easy to write off the movie as a romantic comedy with weak characters.     love means never having 2 grow up Ursula:   Sure, Rashida Jones as Celeste can be seen as the high-strung, controlling female character who's got her life together but doesn't know what she wants.  And Andy Samberg as Jesse can be seen as the sweet and adorable guy who never really grew up.   Kurt :  Agreed. There has been a growing trend of intelligent "romantic comedies" lately ( Bridesmaids comes to mind), as much as that sounds like an oxymoron. I'm not exactly sure if C & J fits that mold; it had plenty of laughs, but it felt more grounded than other comedies I've seen. It had more in common with Annie Hall than whatever crap Kate Hudson's been in...

he is adorable sometimes First of all, I didn't think I'd be enjoying a Rufus Wainwright record EVER AGAIN. I thought the dude peaked years ago....I heard everything after Want Two  and just lost total interest. Rufus broke my heart, in a way. I mean- "Greek Song, "California," "Vibrate," "In My Arms"- he's so crazy talented! but it seemed, the past several years, he had reached some baroque pop midpoint.  Well:  he hasn't! Enter Out of the Game , which finds Rufus channeling 1970s (almost typed 1870s.....good GOD what would that imply?!? chamber music? HARPS? JOANNA NEWSOM?) pop in a way that surprisingly works. Think David Bowie-esque (Bowie, of course, at his own poppiest) or even his own dad at intervals.  The standouts are the above track, "Montauk," "Rashida" and "Candles." Now that Bollywood week has seemed to come to an end (thanks Al and AWM for being you which is beautiful) I have decided to post about my obsession of the moment. See:   Parks and Recreation. The first few times I caught this show, I didn't get it. I was like "this is like the Office  but in bumfuck no where Indiana." I was sort of bored. This was a while ago. 2009? 2010? Flash forward to this year. I finally got around to watching a real episode; not just bits and pieces of one while I was out doing other things. And I was like HOLY SHIT THIS IS A VERY GOOD SHOW. Why? the writing is superb. Now I love 30 Rock  very much as well and will be a lifelong Fey diehard fan, but the writing of this show has started to eclipse the other NBC shining beacon for me. You can tell in the beginning that the writing wasn't exactly on cue. But by midway second season, the writers were finally hitting their mark. I mean, nailing their mark. So in the last post, I stated that I was unfamiliar with Rashida Jones' performance on "Parks and Recreation." Well, all that has changed. I have spent the last six hours doing nothing other than watch P n R with the one exception of watching Rashida Jones photo videos (seen below). I googled Rashida Jones Sexy, and it was the first thing that came up.(haha came up) Verdict: I am now hooked on this show as well. QATFYG: Is it weird when you google image someone and all you see is a red jump rope on image two? That also happened. I had to share with someone.

So Hello Wednesday Evening. I shall try again. I first encountered the name Rashida Jones from her work on “Boston Public.” As I mentioned in a post a long long time ago, I was quite the routine “Boston Public” fan. This is like Where's Waldo, the celebrity edition. my favorites? Elijah Wood, Chloe Sevigny, and the brief shot we get of Amy Poehler. PLUS:  it's a genuinely good track. PLUS: TED DANSON! RASHIDA JONES! A++++ also:  Beasties have a song out with Santigold. ! I actually remember where I was when I discovered them (Beastie Boys). I was 9 and in the car with my brother and "Intergalactic" came on and he explained who they were to me. when I figured out what they looked like (nerdy Jewish kids) I was like, OH MY GOD I CAN BE A RAPPER NOW TOO. intergalactic planetary closing thoughts:  Elijah Wood is adorable. can I put him in my pocket and use him as a vibrator?
