From an Eagle to Gold: An Interview With Golden Suits' Fred Nicolaus

Golden Suits is the solo project of one Fred Nicolaus, who is best known for his work in the band Department of Eagles. His debut album as Golden Suits (name lifted from a John Cheever story) was released last month.  His debut album is getting pretty good reviews so far. And in order to make it, he went through a lot. And, of course, read a lot of Cheever. The album itself has a poppy, melodic 1970s folk vibe to it. It's pleasant to listen to. Golden Suits will be playing a free show at the Sail Inn tonight @ 9 p.m. I strongly recommend going. I asked him a few questions via email recently. Brook White: Ruling the World? Or Youtube? Or Late Night?

are we having fun yet? ... I missed out on the loop a lot in Edinboro. Do I regret this? Hell no. I wish I could have missed out on more to be perfectly honest with you! But Brook White deserves to be recognized for his effortless attempts to make the universe (not just Edinboro University!) laugh. And although I never got the chance to meet Brook and have only witnessed various going-ons via the magic of my safe place in cyberspace.  Brook's first venture into the world of youtubable (is that a word? whatever it just happened) was College Life With Brook White.  SEE IT FOR YOURSELF. But now he's taken it upon himself to start his own variety show a la the Late Show  or something of that nature. Oh?!?! Enter BROOK WHITE TONITE, which has a reach farther than a little area in Pennsylvania.
