This Mila Kunis week (see: Al's lovely posts!) is going to be briefly interrupted by the celebration of the fact that if Miss Anais hadn't died in the 1970s, she'd be....um, 104 years old! oh Anais, if I could only bake you a cake with soooo many candles. then I wouldn't be writing this blog anymore; I'd have a job on the Food Network. you should all give her a go at some point. my favorite female writer ever ever ever. her writing is one of the most vivid things I've ever encountered in the literary world. she's best remembered for a.) her erotica b.) her diaries c.) her relationship with that profane so American genius Henry Miller (whose work inspired Kerouac and others etc and the Tropic of Cancer wasn't legally available in America until the 1960s). d.) her obsession with June, Henry's beautiful wife. this both a book (her most famous diary, probably) and an insanely hot movie with Uma Thurman.
