Yo! I set up the Useless Critic's official Google Plus page. but as if I'm April foolin' myself, I can't figure it out. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA  question:  any Easter plans? 

- That Jennifer Lawrence is in it and she is hot. Winter's Bone much? Like it wasn't obvious or something!  - That it's basically Twilight  meets the Minotaur. - That, unlike one Bella Swan, this protagonist actually has a backbone of sorts. - That apparently it smashed box office records in several thousand different ways this past weekend. - That LizRo has never read da books either and that will make this experiencing 50000 times better. - At least American adolescents are reading? Right? RESPECTTTTTTTT - WHAT I SEE ON TUMBLR IS TOO MUCH - I wish the Republican presidential candidates had to go through a process akin to the Hunger Games . we will see what happens.

I recently met up with the on-the-rise singer/songwriter/poet/dancer Klairkia . She has a lot to offer the world and is set to take it by storm, it seems. She's one determined lady!  I was very late to our meeting- the first IN PERSON Useless Critic interview- because I work way way way out by Coney Island where everyone is Russian and I'm not. But she was nice enough to wait for me and to give me the benefit of the doubt that I was indeed on my way.  The first thing that struck me about her was how beautiful and personable she was, and the next thing was how DRIVEN she was. I mean, my god, this girl has a gift and she's going to let the world know about it, no matter what. Her new record is about to come out to the public on September 16th (my brother's birthday, happy early birthday Joe). It's called Who's Bad , which is a partial nod to Michael Jackson, that late "king of pop." As she explained, both Jacksons have been big influences on her...

Today's Facebook Page belongs to:  Epic Web Studios Why You Should Fan Them:   - because Erie needs businesses like this....really.  - they are the only social media thing in Erie. I think there might be others, but who cares. - they actually have some interesting Facebook updates. Other companies* can tend to just spam you, but Epic puts out some pretty interesting stuff. - they gave me a chance! so, if at least 3 - 5 of you could take five minutes out of your life to do this, it would be awesome. and also * doesn't apply to Scandinavian pop stars obviously. and in the future if you ever have a suggestion for this segment, pass it along! 

Kathie and Hoda are possibly the biggest thing I miss about not having a TV. No, what am I saying? They are ABSOLUTELY the biggest thing I miss. I love these two ladies in the morning! And their sidekick, social media superstar Sara Haines, who spends the national later morning talk show discussing what fans are saying via the Facebook and Twitterverses. this is Sara in a slightly different context: Fun fact:   her nickname is Sage! (Kathie gave it to her- thanks Wikipedia!)  Anyway, I happen to be friends with Sara Haines via the good old Facebook, because I love her. and I was like "let's ask her some questions, self!" to which she responded in a very good nature. You should fan The Adventures of Duncan on Facebook . WHY?   Because you should. See: - it's a good children's series.  - it needs publicity! it needs your help! - it's a very well-intentioned venture and been slow to take off. You can read more about Duncan here . I am just trying to help and raise awareness! Find it on AMAZON also, it's available for Kindle. and I know you all probably have Kindles, so. 

ZOOEY DESCHANEL WEEK HAS BEGUN yeah you see us Zooey! WE'RE EVERYWHERE JUST LIKE YOU Ever since we started up two years ago, our blog has had a LITTLE obsession with Zooey Deschanel. I don't remember how or why it started. It was probably because 500 Days  was huge then. And She & Him are, and always will be, awesome.  SO it might also strike your fancy to learn that she's on a new Fox show this coming fall, The New Girl . The jury is still out on whether or not that will be a good show, but that comes later. Plus it's obviously not fall yet. Fox typically has a good roster of shows, but the plot sounds kind of hackneyed.  Whether it's been The New Girl , though, or her work with the Pooh movie, I couldn't help but notice ONE thing: her like, CONSTANT presence in the social media sphere! I decided, because sometimes it's damn tricky to make people LIKE your product (whatever it be) on Facebook- trust me, as someone that has done this and still has to do it- that each week I will start highlighting ONE Facebook page of interest and trying to market it to the world at large (or whoever reads the Useless Critic) so maybe the page will make 1 or 2 or 3 new fans.  This week:   Local Band Hero. ...a rarity. yeah, I get these bands friending me left-and-right. and that's the only reason I have a MySpace (other than to pick up fourteen-year-olds, of course). it's helped me score a few interviews.
