25 Days of Christmas Songs That Do Not Suck: Norah Jones

More Seasonal Music That Won't Make You Tear Your Wig Out "December"- Norah Jones Per se this isn't a Christmas song, but it's gorgeous anyway. I love Norah Jones; if loving her is wrong I never would like to be right. :)

DEAD PERSON OF THE DAY

Well, for starters, it's not a person..... it's............. JUDE LAW'S HAIR LINE Back in the day, it used to be beautiful. It even romanced Norah Jones in My Blueberry Nights. But:  only the good die young. see? nice hair. now I'm sure Jude has the money to purchase a new scalp, but seems unwilling to. Perhaps Sienna Miller has all his money in a cave somewhere? Nonetheless, this song is for his lost cause:

Sometimes I have to share these things.

So today someone found us simply by searching for "Norah Jones Eating Blueberry Pie." THE MORE YOU KNOW

EQUALS WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTT

question for the day

When you daydream you are a celebrity, who is your inner circle? COME ON WE ALL DO IT. for me, these are the people I befriended in my other life, aka what I think about when I zone out when I'm at the bus watching someone drool on themselves. I am BFFS with: - Jane Adams - Natalie Portman (holla!) - Norah Jones - Diane Keaton - Zooey Deschanel ( - SOMETIMES LADY GAGA BUT SHE'S MOODY And Natalie Wood when I pretend it's 1963. I hate Katy Perry, though. can you blame me? she's a whore. SO THINK FAST WHO DO YOU HANG OUT WITH enjoy your Sunday! I think that God awful heat wave has finally ended. I like heat, really, but I hate getting heat exhaustion when I walk three blocks in my interview clothes.

you need to hear this like right now, right now

Holy shit. Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melody_Gardot And then LISTEN TO HER OH MY GOD This girl (a native of Philadelphia) despite being launched by the same people as Norah Jones, blows her out of the water. And to read what she goes through each day is simply heartbreaking. And inspiring. And humbling. all her tracks are streamable on last.fm, if you like smoky, mature jazz. this girl is TALENTED. She recently opened for Diana Krall on her tour in New Zealand. this girl is going to be HUGE. she has to be. if people have, like, taste. I recommend "Your Heart is as Black as Night."

what in the world has happened to....

I know there's been a clusterfuck of activity today, haha, and for that I apologize 'cause I'm not trying to battle with my fellow contributors or anything. but like, for some reason, I've been thinking about Norah Jones again lately. (YES, REMEMBER HER?) Come Away With Me was bulletproof for a while. I still have that album, still listen to it periodically when I need to go to sleep. The title track is flawless, I still think. and "Don't Know Why"- INSTANTLY melts you down like glass. My lesbianic high school art teacher was all about that shit. as was my mom. as were all my girlfriends. well, turns out, the lovely and talented Miss Jones has a new album coming out with a def more "rock"-oriented focus (some of the people she had working on it with her included Ryan Adams and members of Okkervil River). so alt-country, I guess. the album is entitled The Fall and will be out Nov. 17. she's on the press circuit right now. early reviews have ...
