James Yuill, a gift to Amurika on the Fourth of July

James Yuill is an interesting musician in today's world, making the most of the electronics available to us now- and doing so with a fair level of honest emotion (think Nick Drake) that is absent from a lot of other's work. He's sort of an old school singer-songwriter in a way, but upgraded for the current age. He's worth listening to, and not only is he a gifted artist in his own right but also works pretty well as a remixer. Here's him remixing the Answering Machine:   Here's him on his own: Andddd here's him answering a few questions with me: What are you up to currently? You just played in a festival, correct? James:  That's right. I played two on Friday. Hop Farm and then Blissfields. (Prince played at Hop Farm on  the Sunday so I returned to see him...amazing! Apart from that I don't really have many festivals this year. I'm writing at the moment so expect an album soon(ish)  How do you respond/what do you make of...

"MANIAC"- Kid Cudi (Cage, St. Vincent)

Kanye West's favorite rapper is insane, I think. but in a good way! I mean, watch him in this video- he just looks creepy. BUT IN AN AMAZINGLY MESMERIZING WAY I'm pretty excited for the Mr. Rager album. this guy- he knows what he is doing. besides not just featuring this song is fairly haunting. Even Stevens is directing the video. 21141319 Uploaded by yardie4lifever2 . - Explore international webcam videos. oh, I was going to do the new Crystal Castles song with Robert Smith of the Cure, but you know what that sounds like. The Cure meets Crystal Castles. good stuff, anyway. rating: A (I know, I know) the Roots are playing in the background. Jimmy's in house band. man I wish I had an in house band. it would be the Bangles. DARKER, GIVE ME A MARKER. p.s. James Yuill also has a new song out, I believe? check it- sort of little-known, but very good.

Lovely little song (ABOUT LOVE OMFGZ ISN'T VALENTINE'S DAY RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER) in the vein of Tunng and the Books. Warning: this video may make you feel bad.
