Song of the Day So last night I had an audio date with this boy. And really I was worried he might be awful but he's surprisingly good, catchy and a decent rapper! which is really weird because he namedrops "Damien Rice" and also is palz with T-Swizzle. Plus he's part of the whole weird pseudo-Britpop-not-really movement going on (i.e. the Wanted and One Direction). Well don't write him off because THAT is a mistake! Way talented guy.

Win Butler is the lead singer (one of the lead singers?) of the most popular indie band in the world, Arcade Fire. They are Canadian and just won the top Grammy honor this year. Rik Mayall is a semi-popular British comedian who was on British sitcoms in the 80s and early 90s at the height of his career. I think these two men look alike. Exhibit A: Win Exhibit B: Rik Okay, okay, okay. Maybe these pictures don't do must justice. Maybe you need to watch Bottom or The Young Ones to see a similarity. Maybe we need to hear Win Butler sing "The Suburbs" in an English accent to know. Maybe I need to Google better pictures?

Alright, I think I'll be giving this movie a shitty review if I officially reviewed it, so a public service announcement: SEE THIS MOVIE. If it's playing in your area. Submarine is a little British indie film directed by one of my favorite (favourite?) people of all time, Richard Ayoade, a half-Nigerian, half-Norwegian comedian and blipster, most famous for playing hilarious characters on The IT Crowd and The Mighty Boosh . He's also directed videos for Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Arctic Monkeys. Speaking of Arctic Monkeys, their lead singer, Alex Turner, contributed songs to the soundtrack for this film. The film is set in 1986, but Turner's modern indie vocals fall in place perfectly throughout its vintage, twee Welsh setting. Ayoade's been called the next Wes Anderson. It's also his birthday today (well yesterday, since I'm posting this so late and it's almost midnight on the west coast)! Do yourself a favor and watch SUBMARINE.
