Jon Gomm Interview.

Hello, dear reader. That facial hair is looking pretty awesome. Speaking Of facial hair, have you heard of Jon Gomm? He has pretty awesome facial fuzz. So, unsure of when Marion whatshername week is over, I'm a bit nervous about posting this, lest the other boys want mr dead. But, this guy is too good to not show you! He's a singer songwriter guitarist (and with some schools of thought a drummer and god knows what else) with god knows how many shows under his belt and an international reputation. So yes, read on! Oh, be warned. He doesn't know who Spongebob is. What made you first pick up a guitar, and what first made you decide to start hitting and scratching it? I got my first guitar when I was 2 years old, after pestering my parents endlessly for one. I was an odd child. It was actually a ukulele, but it was a nice one! Christmas List: Then I saw this And I began to hear a voice that sounded like a cross between Old Blue Eyes and Eric Millegan singing.... Will Somebody Please Give This Guy A Grammy!?!

And that is my request. Erik Mongrain, a native of Montreal Quebec, knows how to play guitar. I guess he would be nominated for best instrumental performance non-classical or something fancy like that. Mongrain has become known for his signature two handed lap/tapping technique that includes lots of harmonics. Watch it here in the song called Airtap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbndgwfG22k This video has been viewed over 4 million times, and about 1.2 million of them were me. He can play slow. He can play fast, but it’s safe to say Erik Mongrain plays well. Here is the vid to his song Fusions, which is also one of my favorites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDGXs3wuaPQ Right now he has two studio albums out, and I think the first one is the best. But be on the lookout for something new in the future. (I hope there's a third.)
