"Animal Noise"- Iggy Azalea

Image
Uh, You Need to Hear This? I will let you be the judge. Iggy is interesting. She's gorgeous, foul-mouthed. A white rapper from Australia. ...  I like Uffie. So no, I can't say anything. She's also quite the looker by the by: Yep.

Azealia Banks – "Yung Rapunxel"

Image
Earlier today, Azealia Banks premiered the boisterous, in-yo'-face electro banger "Yung Rapunxel," which will be released on March 26 as the first official single from her highly anticipated debut album, Broke with Expensive Taste , due out sometime this year. My body is so ready. Meanwhile, Azealia has gotten into yet another Twitter feud —this time with Rita Ora, whom she labeled "Rihanna's understudy." Is it wrong that I actually agree with Azealia? Anyway, her album may as well be called Fifty Shades of Beef (see what I did there?). Just the mandatory GIF

Guest Writer: Kreayshawn’s “Somethin Bout Kreay”

Kreayshawn’s “Somethin Bout Kreay” is she going away yet? by Sarah Mantione The internet sensation, Kreayshawn (Natassia Zolot), has finally released her debut album, “Somethin Bout Kreay,” on Sept. 18 this year after the sixteen-month lapse from the time her "Gucci Gucci" single was posted on YouTube in 2011. It is a hip-hop album influenced by her eclectic musical tastes and several songs are a nod to the free-style rap that she grew up idolizing.  The wait for most fans has meant a loss of interest and sales are particularly disappointing. With only about 3,900 albums sold in the first week, it seems unlikely Columbia will be willing to sign another contract with the 23 year old. Her current rank on the U.S. chart is #112. Not the expected outcome for a woman who garnered over 38 million views on her first music video release.  The album has a decent level of youthful energy and is obviously meant to be taken at face value without too much thought going int...

Norteño Rap 14 Caliber - Burning Bridges

Image
This post reminds me of the back when I wrote about Grammy Categories and Favorites, and also back when I wrote about Bionic Jive. So while I was searching for songs from the Norteño Genre of music, I happened to encounter one that was of Norteño rap. When I think of Norteño music, I am more inclined to think of the semi-mariachi styles with lots of saxophones and trumpets. This is not the same thing. Latin American or Chicano American Rap is something that I never listen to normally. However, this son really stood out. It has a great classic horror movie sound that is mixed in with words that blend pretty damn well. I have become a fan. Note: This song is dedicated to AWM: The Useless Critic Ambassador to Rap. QATFYG: AWM, would you like to dedicate a song to me?

I am deeply conflicted about this.

there is a song about my alma mater floating around on the internet: I discovered this thanks to yourboro. I am really confused about how to feel but I wish I could find a MP3 of this to listen to.

Is that Jimmy Brooks?

Image
So did you watch Degrassi? I sure did, but now a lot of the actors from the original cast of Next Generation are slightly too old to be part of the Teen Soap. Some are pursuing other acting projects, and others are taking different creative paths. Aubrey Graham, who played Jimmy Brooks, the basketball star who was paralyzed from a gunshot, is now making a new name for himself. And that name is DRAKE! Aubrey is now going by his middle name, Drake, as he tackles the world of music. Drake is a rapper that is doing more than just okay. Some people are calling him the next FRESH PRINCE, and there was even a rumor that he was dating pop superstar, Rihanna. However, that claim is denied by both D + R. He is also a major associated act with Lil’ Wayne and even Jay-Z. Drake has more to back himself up than just hype. His single, “Best I ever had” has peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Top 100, which isn’t easy to do. And on the rap and r&b charts he made it to number 1. So it doesn’t look ...
