Oscars? More like the Colin Firth Awards.......

Image
So one of the few channels I have that speaks English is the BBC, and they did a weekly program about movies. Of course it focused on the Oscars, but they devoted the entire program to Colin Firth. Colin Firth. Colin Firth. Colin Firth. It seems the British Isles are already celebrating his win for Best Actor. Perhaps, if there is an upset there will be riots in Manchester that are not about football. QATFYG: I know we will know in a few, but will Colin Firth win the Oscar for Best Actor? Or will it go to Jesse Eisenberg????????? Mysterious.

Spotlight/Shoutout: Cuba Gooding Jr.

I never got to see Shadowboxer - but this pic of Cuba Gooding says it all. He can be a badass and work alongside Helen Mirren. Of course, he is an Oscar winner, but he wins the snacktacular s/s today because he is Cuba Gooding Jr: The Forgotten Badass of Planet Earth. And yes; snacktacular is a Simpsons reference. QATFYG: Did you ever see Boat Trip ?

For starters Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin were great hosts. I really liked their chemistry and humor, but I wondered how they would get through without a musical number.....then there is Neil Patrick Harris to save the day. So like I said, Miley and Taylor were out of line....and I really did not like how when Miley was up on stage with Amanda Seyfried and she says "We're nervous, it's our first time up here." More Recap, Monique won as predicted. Christoph Waltz won as predicted. Jeff Bridges won as predicted. Sandra Bullock won as predicted. All of which were Great and Followed with Great Speeches. I love how Sandra said in the Baps interview that if Meryl Streep won, she's gonna "kick her ass." Also Christoph Waltz was so good. He was unbelievably good in ...

I Believe in Harvey MILK!!!

So I just got back from watching “Milk” at some tiny theatre out in the middle of nowhere, and there are some things I'd like to say about the result. “Milk” (directed by Gus Van Sant) is a film that had a lot of expectation to live up to as it won Oscars for best screenplay and best male performance in a lead role (Dustin Lance Black and Sean Penn respectively). So what’s the verdict? It was awesome!! I loved it. It was funny, sweet, sad, deep, emotional, and of course it was a powerful story of a legendary man who defied the odds. “Milk” is based on the life and career of Harvey Milk, a openly gay man, who became the first homosexual to be elected to public office. It is a fantastically done film with an all-star cast including, Sean Penn, James Franco, Emile Hirsch, and Josh Brolin, and that one guy from that one movie. Yeah, you know who I'm talking about. I read on another website that “Milk” did not deserve the Oscar for best screenplay. That writer insisted that it shou...
