The Useless Critic 2.0

A long time ago, I sent an interview request to Husky Rescue , an awesome Finnish indie pop band. Since then, it's been a lot of back and forth. However, today....they responded! So, now that their new album is nigh, here it is, my interview with Husky Rescue:    UC:  So you guys are touring Asia? How is that been? You just played a show in China, correct?   HR:   On our May tour we played three shows: Beijing, Taipei and Tokyo. We were very exited to visit Asia, since it's was the first time we had the chance to play there. It was a beautiful experience to travel to China, and bring our music to a vastly different culture. You could see that pop culture scene is starting to bloom, and people want to experience something new. In Taipei the people were even more shy than we are, which was really cute! Tokyo was just as crazy as one might imagine. It was like walking through the set of Fifth Element. We also found our favorite cuisine on this trip, ...

So it shall commence........ I send some thanks for Youtube user InternetDiscovery for posting a list of Japanese Love songs. These are great anytime of the year. The First Japanese Love Song I confess I am not extremely familiar with this song, but this video is pretty darn sentimental. Ariuka—Winter Love Song—Mongolian Version Now to India, this was a World Record for the largest Sitar ensemble. I am posting it to remind us all, that we are never truly alone. And like all my Asian Music Party posts, they contain Shahrizoda, the female group from Uzbekistan that I love so much. This song is simply called “Rose.” QATFYG: Do you have an Asian song of romance?

So, another purely selfish S/S, but aren't they all? It goes to Chow Yun-Fat, but this one has to begin with the QATFYG. QATFYG: Has anyone in this sphere seen "The Corrupter?" I remember back in 1999/2000, I saw this in the video store every week, and I always wanted to see it. But I was too young at the time (tragic age discrimination ) but I always planned on watching "The Corrupter" when I was older. However, over the years I have grown a distaste for Mark Wahlberg. I just don't like him in most things. On some levels he and I get along, but things like "The Italian Job" or "The Happening." PASS!!! I had forgotten about this movie, but I was watching "Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior" tonight, and I was reminded of all the Chinese things I like, including Chow Yun-Fat. So it’s been months and months since I did an Asian music party, and here is another one for absolutely no particular reason. Some awesome Asian sounds include.... For starters “12 Girls Band.” They are super popular, and super well-liked for a reason, nothing but charisma and excellence emits from the orchestrations. Here is their version of “Reel Around the Sun,” from “Riverdance.” Next The Morin Khuur, the Mongolian instrument known as the “Horse Head Fiddle,” in English is a brash sounding musical masterwork that has a very strong sound, most things in Mongolia are strong like Genghis. And Possibly the best thing on the internet (from India or someplace like it), “Benny Lava” a la Buffalax. Just listen, it’s worth it. And of course, Shahrizoda. I don’t pick favorites with music, but I listen to this group from Uzbekistan of Uyghur decent so much. They are popular in the Xinjiang region of China’s Northwest. QATFYG: Who wants to toss around some other good Asian music names?

Today is the day when I have finished my Asian History class for the summer semester. To celebrate I will be drinking generic cola with the calories this time...no more diet sodey water for me today. When I found out about them I showed their videos to everyone I could. They're from Uzbekistan, but ethnically, they're ughyurs from Western China.
