Spotlight/Shoutout: Hugh Laurie ('Bout Time!)

Image
*Looks so English! So it rather shocks me, that I have been writing this weekly segment for almost 100 weeks, and I have not mentioned Hugh Laurie in the Spotlight/Shotout Gold-Plated Platinum-Cored Showcase. We all know what Hugh Laurie has, and we all know what his abilities are. Aside from his stunning work in "Stuart Little," he has some wicked piano skills. He is not too bad speaking French either, even though one person in the Youtube section, did profess that he sounds Canadian. We all know Hugh Laurie is awesome, and if you think otherwise...well, then I bet you watch shows like "River Monsters" or "Hannity" for your preferred actors. QATFYG: Which British actor does the best American accent? Of course, I pick Hugh.

House M.D. has jumped the shark.

I will state it for the record right now. Last week's episode was a little off-beat, so I gave it the benefit of the doubt even the plot seemed ridiculous (House in a classroom giving a profanity-laced lecture to grade school students while the teacher intermittently expressed mild outrage, parsed with clips of him being berated by a bossy tween into revealing secrets about his love life.) This week, it was back to the old tried and true "patient of the week" formula that has worked flawlessly for seven seasons. Can't mess up when you're playing the standards, right? Alas, somehow they have completely forgotten how to do it correctly. There is no drama in the attempt to find the diagnosis. They try to sneak this fact past the viewer with dramatic music and slow motion shots, but it's too little, too late, and it just feels out of place. The episode plays more like a bad sitcom. We are treated to unconvincing roommate drama between Taub and Foreman, half...

Dr. Cameron + Big Screen = High Five Part 3

Dr. Cameron + Big Screen = High Five Part 3 Okay, I know it’s a long ways away, but I haven’t talked about Jennifer Morrison (Dr. Cameron on House) whom I adore, in a really really long time. Here is an update. Speaking of House M.D., tonight was a special night for the show, as Jennifer Morrison and Jesse Spencer (Robert Chase) reprised their roles as the diagnostic team. This episode also guest starred James Earl Jones. How righteous can it get? Best Monday in a while. And JM is working on a movie titled “Warrior,” about mixed martial arts. But it gets even better. She will be starring in the movie alongside Nick Nolte!! And also wrestler Kurt Angle will appear in it. Which may or may not be a good thing, we’ll just have to see. Personally, I’m not an Angle Fan. “Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Gold Medal Blah Blah Blah I’ll twist your ankle Flippin BLAH!” (That’s a Team 3-D Reference) For all you Pittsburghers out there, this film is being shot in the Steel City. Hence, the appearance of ...
