Enjoy! This playlist is a lot more playful- as demonstrated by the presence of "Work Bitch" by Britney Spears. I just added "Manners" by Icona Pop because it felt good. I also have included my favorite Franz Ferdinand b-side and Lorde's "Royals." I can't bring myself to listen to other Lorde songs because SHE'S SO YOUNG AND IT MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE. It's generally a positive mix. "Catch My Disease" by Ben Lee, "Breakin' Up" by Rilo Kiley, "Bohemian Like You" by the Dandy Warhols- all rather timeless. There's some odd cuts, like "Obstacle 1" by Interpol (have had in my head all week), the Erie PA song by deadhorse (hometown shoutout) and some `90s/`00s electronica (Ivy and Sneaker Pimps). As for the Camille song and Mayer Hawthorne/Kendrick Lamar track, I will not lie. They are pretty hot.

As many of you may know, the 1990s was when I developed my taste in music. Some artists I connected with immediately (PJ Harvey, Placebo, Garbage, Tori Amos, KMFDM), but there were some that I only found an appreciation for when they were well into their musical careers. It's no surprise to me that The Dandy Warhols fell into the latter category. Back in 1996, their major label debut single "Not If You Were the Last Junkie on Earth" was everywhere (well, maybe just on M2, back when M2 played music videos instead of Jersey Shore marathons). And while I enjoyed the song and the tongue-in-cheek lyrics ("Shouldn't you have got a couple piercings/and a sign that maybe that you were gay/anyway..."), my friend Kellea and I were more intrigued in keyboardist Zia's glorious boobies (hey, a gay man can enjoy boobies) in the video than we were with actually buying ...The Dandy Warhols Come Down . here is something that is weird and certainly doesn't happen every day: Hungarian (!!!) indie band the Moog will be playing Erie TOMORROW night at the new place on State Street, the Crooked I, which seems like a very interesting place to me. I investigated on their Myspace and they appear to be rather big fans of the Smiths. but then again so is AFI. anyway, tickets are 3 dollars and the show begins at 8 and I would like to investigate them, because they're pretty catchy and the lead singer's voice is not bad. here you go: I personally prefer this song: I'm just astonished there's a Hungarian music scene. ignorant of me, I know. the Dandy Warhols came up in related...another good sign?
