I Just Discovered Andy Samberg and Joanna Newsom Are Engaged.

Image
I don't know what big-ass rock I've been living under, because this happened in FEBRUARY. I hear the guy from "The Princess Bride" saying "twoo wuv" Joanna Newsom and comedian Andy Samberg are officially about to get hitched. When? I have no idea. Why? Well, that picture me seems like a like a look of adoration, so. I guess! For a long time, I really didn't like this couple. But Andy Samberg has grown on me exponentially. Thus, I've given them my *meaningless* stamp of approval. Stamp, stamp. All done! I just hope he doesn't introduce her to Adam Sandler. Or who knows; maybe she's a big "The Waterboy" fan.  Here's the new Lonely Island video with P. Diddy, Robyn and Paul Rudd. Why yes! I've had dreams like this for YEARS-

A group review of "Celeste and Jesse Forever"

guess which is which? I'm John Ritter, you dummy!       Starring Kurt, Britt and Ursula.     Britt:   as much as I enjoyed   Celeste and Jesse Forever , it is easy to write off the movie as a romantic comedy with weak characters.     love means never having 2 grow up Ursula:   Sure, Rashida Jones as Celeste can be seen as the high-strung, controlling female character who's got her life together but doesn't know what she wants.  And Andy Samberg as Jesse can be seen as the sweet and adorable guy who never really grew up.   Kurt :  Agreed. There has been a growing trend of intelligent "romantic comedies" lately ( Bridesmaids comes to mind), as much as that sounds like an oxymoron. I'm not exactly sure if C & J fits that mold; it had plenty of laughs, but it felt more grounded than other comedies I've seen. It had more in common with Annie Hall than whatever crap Kate Hudson's been in...

A group sex review of "Friends With Benefits"

This is the result of a week worth of emailing back and forth between: - me - Cara - Kurt ALL OF SAW THE MOVIE OPENING DAY. I did this because I am partially in love with Mila, and how could I not? Also:  Cara had sex with Justin Timberlake at a concert in 2002. And Kurt is just a slut! me:   "Friends With Benefits" was a great film, because not only does Mila Kunis get me wet, Jenna Elfman has one percentile of her acting talent still in tact. Did the Church of Science Fiction not manage to suck it all out? Who knows. Cara:   HAHAHA REMEMBER WHEN JENNA ELFMAN SHOWED UP AS A STRIPPER IN CAN'T HARDLY WAIT? me:   OH MY GOD REALLY WHY Kurt:   Are we really gonna talk about Jenna fucking Elfman? I, for one, will not. Instead, I pose a quandary: Justin Timberlake sneeze/orgasm. Is this an actual thing? Is it adorable, or would it get super annoying? What if he's drinking something--OR what if he's going down on someone and sneegasms?! me: ...

joanna: a review (kind of)

Matthew and I traveled several hours out of the way to see JOANNA NEWSOM in the FLESH in Columbus yesterday. We didn't get back til 5 this morning. damn! :( (I'm still quite tired from this) Columbus is a big, clean, boring city, from what I could deduce, in the few hours I spent in their downtown. Not a lot to write home about, but certainly no Cleveland. We snuck around the hotel next to the theater trying to catch a glimpse of the goddess in the flesh. The goddess that has the deluded notion that Andy Samberg is her life partner or something (seriously! Bill Callahan, why DID you let her go!). No signs of her but we did get to see a few members of her eclectic little band in the lobby. and oh my god! SO MANY HIPSTERS! it was like an American Apparel exploded on us or something. Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes fame was the opener. He wasn't bad at all- that guy can sing! It was all solo stuff though. I wasn't familiar. And then, after a HUUUUUUUUGE break (I started to f...
