The Useless Critic 2.0

A few days ago, I caught wind that one of my childhood heroes was reaching the 40 mark in her life. NO ZOOEY IS STILL SAFE, and I secretly anticipate the day I turn 40 with much eagerness.  I'm talking about Winona Ryder obviously if that picture didn't tip you off. Yes, Noni, the symbol of Generation X, the star of Reality Bites  and Girl Interrupted , the sometimes klepto, the OLD SWAN in Black Swan , is middle-aged. To me, and countless others, I'm sure she'll always hover somewhere between 16 and 28. I would just like to take the opportunity now to say WHAT happened to Alec Baldwin. damn! age, you cruel mistress! My personal favorite Winona moment is basically everything about Girl Interrupted  which I see as a prelude to the craziness that is Black Swan . What timing- this is such a shock. apparently the 32-year-old actress we best know for Clueless died of a heart attack this morning. I know 2009 was like a big year for celebrities' deaths but she was so young and this was so unexpected- it's really a waste. it's always sad to see someone cut down in their prime. personally, I loved her in Girl, Interrupted.
