Bright Eyes, that Justin Bieber before there was a Justin Bieber, that Elliott Smith/Gram Parsons/Ryan Adams/Bob Dylan soundalike, father of emooooo, is doing a free concert in Buffalo come July 27th. I may go to this, but it depends. question: DID YOU WATCH 30 ROCK LAST NIGHT? WAS IT NOT AMAZING?

mylittlepony....not the toy, the band.

Recently , the up-and-coming Norwegian band " Mylittlepony " came rollicking through the American countryside in search of shows and etc. Buffalo (oddly) was one of the cities they hit upon on this trek. My man Billy Leland opened for them, actually! Anyway, band member Ola Innset was more than nice enough to answer a few questions. He shares the band's plans, differences between American and Europe and some interesting perspectives! 1.) You guys recently toured America! Was it your first time touring here and ho w was that? It was our first time, and it was a lot of fun! It's incredible to travel to the other side of the world and play your music for people. We got a lot of good feedback, and in fact we felt the feedback we got here in America was usually very detailed and to the point. We love hearing that we're "cute", or "funny" or "create a cosy atmosphere," or other things that we usually count as great feedback, but Americans s...

"Brutal Hearts"- Bedouin Soundclash f. Coeur du Pirate

so I can't think of a good reason I've never listened to this band intently before: SOUNDS LIKE THE XX, NO? but I'm kind of sick of the Xx. but this also has some kind of African vibe going for it, too. and that girl is COUER DU PIRATE; check her out too. this Canadian band will be in Buffalo, November 5th. I can say I'm certainly tempted. this is an easy A. I'm going to go come now.

First things first, last night I swung into Pittsburgh after my classes had finished and saw The Books (with Lymbc System, and there's not much more to be said about them then they seemed kind of interesting and were polite) at my new favorite venue, the Warhol. which makes me sound awful douchey but WHATEV . The Books were pretty good! not like, a band I could ever become fanatical about, but I appreciate them and enjoy them ("Be Good to Them Always," "Enjoy Your Worries You May Never Have Them Again"). Glad I at least got the opportunity to watch them. They put on one hell of a visually-rich live show. They played their guitar and cello in front of a collage of constantly-changing film. Didn't expect that at all so it was cool. Kept things very interesting, otherwise I'm sure I would have gotten bored after a while. But yeah. Good! They played some stuff of their new album, which will be out next year. And I was a little drunk so I started falling a...

i'm leaving because i don't love you

well I've decided because the internet isn't as enjoyable as it tends to be for me right now, to back off on it until Friday so I can accomplish more meaningful stuff. granted I'll check my ymail on my cell phone but until then you're going to have to text me or something. a little roughing it for me! ha ha ROUGHING IT. Al's been posting a lot lately so no worries. if anyone gives a shit (no one does :P). this is sad that this can be considered "roughing it." whatevs. I have stuff I want to get done (writing, cleaning, etc) and now's as good a time as any. plus I'll be posting (twice!) on Friday, so bear that in mind. as for right now, some shit before I get going: WHAT THE FUCK I used to have such a thing for Rivers Cuomo back in the day. safe to say those days have passed. I have not been pleased by anything Weezer's done, since...oh God. the 90s. SHOWS IN THE NEAR FUTURE, LOCAL ABOUTS, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE: - July 25: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, House ...

Climb the boxcars to the engine through the smoke, into the sky your rails have always outrun mine so I'll pick them up and crash them down in a moment close to now 'cause I miss, I miss I miss, I miss I miss, I miss I miss, I miss how you'd sigh yourself to sleep when I'd rake the springtime across to your sheets. My love, I am the speed of sound I left them motherless, fatherless Their souls dangling inside out from their mouths but it's never enough I want you. My love, I'm an owl on the sill in the evening but morning find you, still warm and breathing. Neko is giving a free show in Buffalo on July 23 at the Square, with Jason Lyte as an opener. FREE. I am going. - Brittany http://www.sendspace.com/file/m6oe3w ^ MP3
