Song of the Day
One of my oldest friends in the world and me were having this discussion the other day that perhaps Taylor Swift should stop writing about boys so much. Lo and behold, last week Gwyneth Paltrow hosted a cancer telethon, on which Taylor appeared with one of her newest songs, straight off Red. If was called "Ronan" and it became quickly apparent it was a song for a child dying of cancer.
It actually was inspired by a little Phoenix boy named Ronan who lost his own battle to cancer and his mom's blog entries chronicling the journey. The performance is gut wrenching; the story behind it even more so. Nicely done, Taylor.
Here is Ronan's mom, Maya's, foundation in his name. All proceeds of the song go to cancer-related charities.
