Song of the Day
Usually I use this to promote songs I genuinely enjoy. This time around, I'm picking this song and letting you decide. I like the orchestration, but man! It's his voice. Mike Kinsella is no doubt a talented man but his voice is just...great for emo songs. He worked with producer Neil Strauch on his new album who has worked with the likes of Andrew Bird and Bon Iver.
Still - not my bag per se, but perhaps I need to open my mind.
Mike Kinsella is known for his work in Owls, Cap'n Jazz and American Football. "L'Ami du Peuple" comes out on July 2.
He's also hitting the road, so take note (not near Phoenix though):
05.24 - Bowery Ballroom - New York, NY*
05.31 - Jackpot Music Hall - Lawrence, KS
06.17 - Beachland Tavern - Cleveland, OH
06.18 - The Smiling Moose - Pittsburgh, PA
06.20 - Kings Barcade - Raleigh, NC
06.22 - The Soapbox - Wilmington, NC
06.24 - New Brookland Tavern - Columbia, SC
06.26 - The End - Nashville, TN
07.13 - Adado Riverfront Park - Lansing, MI
