emergency morning talk show post!


when I was putting together the page of wire news late last night at the paper, I came upon a most truly horrifying story:

DIANE SAWYER IS LEAVING GOOD MORNING AMERICA AND WILL BE THE ANCHOR OF WORLD NEWS TONIGHT IN JANUARY!!!

my heart STOPPED. it has taken me YEARS to grow to trust another morning talk show after being left, high and dry, when Katie Couric walked away from Today those dreadful years ago. and then this. it's like dinner at a restaurant that is going reallllllly well until your lover announces that she/he/it is leaving. and gets up and walks away with some attractive European. grr.


so now ABC has to step up and put someone as equally charismatic, likeable, good-looking, trustworthy, AMAZING as Diane Sawyer in their morning GMA slot. but they're DESTROYING a family! those callous assholes! I know Charlie (my beloved "I HOPE YOU HAD A GOOD DAY" Charlie) won't stay but couldn't they get SOMEONE ELSE. like, that one guy that looks kind of like a rat. what is he doing these days???

I know, it's a big moment for women. but I'm just disappointed. and I know it will be years before I can let another morning talk show into my heart.

I don't know what I would do if Kelly Ripa and Regis Philbin split. hang myself? probably!

    what's funny is that I had the same reaction when my mom informed me, as I was blogging, that charlie is retiring and diane is taking over abc world news. it was bad enough when peter jennings went and died - god, I loved him. charlie filled the spot beautifully. I...really don't know if Diane is nightly news material. she is perky and good for the morning.

    my picks for the spot are either elizabeth vargas (who fills in for charlie and has superior gravitas) or dan harris, who fills in on weekends. he is not that great, but I find him sexy and would like the opportunity to look at him more.

    whoa Posh and becks are putting themselves all vulnerable and shit. How long before posh goes gray?

Give JR a Break

Recently, I've been reading some sites that have criticized James Roday, the lead actor on the USA show PSYCH for an apparent weight gain. But you know what? Who gives a flying fizzle stick if James Roday is slightly larger than he was 4 years ago. Apparently, it wasn't enough to scare away his current girlfriend/ co-star Maggie Lawson. (Who is one hell of a Catch!) And NO they are not engaged. That seems to be nothing more than a rumor, but there is a very high chance of it happening in the near future. Anyway, as long as PSYCH continues to entertain I don't mind about James Roday's waist. He, and Dule Hill, and Corbin Bernson too, can eat all the fried broccoli they want. The last episode of PSYCH wasn't so smashing, but I don't blame it on dietary issues. QATFYG: Are you keeping up with Psych? And who is hotter, James Roday or Maggie Lawson? Full Oscar Recap

For starters Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin were great hosts. I really liked their chemistry and humor, but I wondered how they would get through without a musical number.....then there is Neil Patrick Harris to save the day. So like I said, Miley and Taylor were out of line....and I really did not like how when Miley was up on stage with Amanda Seyfried and she says "We're nervous, it's our first time up here." OH come on, like you've never presented an award before, and you've also been to the Oscars.....Not to mention Amanda S. presented the special last year with R Patz about Romance movies. More Recap, Monique won as predicted. Christoph Waltz won as predicted. Jeff Bridges won as predicted. Sandra Bullock won as predicted. All of which were Great and Followed with Great Speeches.
