Recently, I've been reading some sites that have criticized James Roday, the lead actor on the USA show PSYCH for an apparent weight gain. But you know what? Who gives a flying fizzle stick if James Roday is slightly larger than he was 4 years ago. Apparently, it wasn't enough to scare away his current girlfriend/ co-star Maggie Lawson. (Who is one hell of a Catch!) And NO they are not engaged. That seems to be nothing more than a rumor, but there is a very high chance of it happening in the near future. Anyway, as long as PSYCH continues to entertain I don't mind about James Roday's waist. He, and Dule Hill, and Corbin Bernson too, can eat all the fried broccoli they want. The last episode of PSYCH wasn't so smashing, but I don't blame it on dietary issues. QATFYG: Are you keeping up with Psych? And who is hotter, James Roday or Maggie Lawson? (Trick Question but idk why) PS: If you have heard any more news on Roday and Lawson becoming Roday-Lawson, send it...
"Hey Man, Nice Shot," "Jurassitol," and their cover of "One" were all great.
ReplyDeletegood stuff,
ReplyDeleteon my radio stations down here in West Virginia "Hey Man, Nice Shot" got crazy radio play during the 2000's.
I heard the song was about Bud Dwyer's televised suicide, and after watching the video of it, it makes the song feel so alive (ironically for Bud.)
That's messed up. First I've heard about it, and I just read the whole Dwyer thing. I choose to believe he was innocent just for the romanticism of it.
ReplyDeletewell, the truth is probably in the grave.
ReplyDelete:(
hey man, nice shot was on the short bus album, which is great stuff.
But once they put out the Amalgamut, it was one of the first times I really the more polished sound from a band,

ReplyDeleteI've owned a number of copies of Short Bus over the years and I always remembered it as a good album. I played it again a few weeks ago and the lyrics were sort of embarassing on some songs. I've only heard Title of Record and The Amalgamut a few times but the sound is very different. Though I'll admit I was into "Take My Picture" when it came out
ReplyDelete"Take my picture" is a really good song, but it is much lighter than the Filter that I normally like it.
ReplyDeleteWhat are some of the examples of embarrassing lyrics ....oh do continue :)
This particular rhyme scheme from "Dose" stands out.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when you preach your case / It makes me wanna stick my dick in your face
intriguing,
ReplyDeletei both smiled and giggled at that line.
i am so immature sometimes.
hears the words dick in the face = giggle giggle.
I like Filter. Did you take journalism ethics with Wilson Al? he was obsessed with that Bud Dwyer thang. wish I could have known you, Bud!
ReplyDelete"Take a Picture" is a great song. what is/are Filter doing anymore? and did they form from NIN or Tool? I always forget.
Richard Patrick was in NIN as a touring guitarist, I believe. And someone else was in Stabbing Westward. I think I read that one of the riffs from, "Hey Man, Nice Shot," maybe, was originally from a SW song.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting fact: Richard Patrick's brother, Robert Patrick, played the T-1000 in Terminator 2 and was the B-list replacement for David Duchovny after he left the X-Files.
yes,
ReplyDeleteyou mean Agent Dogget ( i am spelling that wrong.)
I do feel bad for Robert Patrick, because he is still mainly known for playing the T-1000. He just hasn't made a role that was bigger than that one so long ago.
@Britt,
Listening to that dingdong idiot Wilson talk about Bud Dwyer almost ruined the filter song for me. Wilson and I are not on the same page in the info pamphlet that is life.
